Permit-ready architectural plans for ADUs, remodels, additions, and new construction — built to pass plan check and satisfy Santa Barbara's review boards.
Schedule Your Free Site Visit →Getting architectural plans drawn is one thing. Getting plans that sail through plan check is another. Santa Barbara's reviewers look for specific things — design compatibility, code compliance, engineering coordination, Title 24 compliance — and plans that miss these details get sent back for corrections.
Every round of corrections costs weeks. Every resubmittal resets the review clock. Plans that aren't built for the local review process create delays that compound across the entire project timeline.

Kitchen and bath renovations, second-story additions, whole-home remodels — plans that account for existing conditions and code triggers.

For most residential projects in California, a licensed architect is not required. SBP can produce permit-ready plans for ADUs, remodels, additions, and many new construction projects. For larger or more complex projects that require a licensed architect's stamp, we coordinate with licensed architects in our network.
Simple projects like ADUs typically take 3–5 weeks for complete plans. Remodels and additions take 4–8 weeks depending on scope. New construction or design review projects can take 8–12 weeks. We provide timeline estimates specific to your project at our initial consultation.
Absolutely. ADU design is one of our most common services. We handle everything from initial site analysis through complete permit-ready plans, including coordination with the City's preapproved ADU program if that's the right fit for your property.
A complete plan set typically includes site plan, floor plans, exterior elevations, building sections, structural details, foundation plan, roof framing, electrical layout, plumbing layout, Title 24 energy calculations, and all notes and details required by the reviewing jurisdiction.
